Evidence!

So my sweet daughter has been really bad about taking naps lately---meaning she won't take them at all. But I have some evidence that maybe it's not just her being a stubborn little girl. Behold, her first tooth! The picture is really cute, and you can see the tooth just popping through.

Also, last Monday Nate and I took Lyla to the zoo for the first time. The weather was perfect, and we had the best time! I love the giraffes, and so did Lyla. Nate has big plans for a summer full of cute animals...he loves the zoo more than any kid there!

First Easter!

Here are some adorable pictures of Lyla's first Easter. We spent the morning with the Sylvia family and then the afternoon with Andy and Ashley. Lyla looked too cute, and she loved her new Boston hat! Thanks grammie and grand-dad!

Lyla's Photo Shoot

I just got the pictures back from Lyla's first professional photo shoot---and I absolutely love them! I couldn't decide which ones to put in the slide show, so I put just about every image on! These were taken February 12, 2008, so she's a little older now. Enjoy!!

We're havin' a heat wave...

So yesterday we spent just about the entire day outside...because anyone from Utah knows that when the temperature exceeds 45 degrees, it's a heat wave. We hit golf balls, played on the grass with Andy and Ashley, and then sat in the hot tub at night. I absolutely love daylight savings time.

Hey Lyla!

For those of you who don't know, Nate was the mastermind behind our daughter's adorable name---and he heard it in an Oasis song! Here are the lyrics...they are pretty sweet. She's so rockin'!

Lyla
Callin' all the stars to fall
And catch the silver sunlight in your hands

Come for me and set me free
Lift me up and take me where i stand

She believes in everything
And everyone and you and yours and mine

I waited for a thousand years
For you to come and blow me out my mind

Hey Lyla! A star's about to fall
So what d'you say Lyla?
The world around us makes me feel so small
Lyla!
If you can't hear me call the i can' say
Lyla!
Heaven help you catch me if i fall

She's the queen of all that i have seen
And every song and city far and near
Heaven-hell my mademoiselle
She ring the bell for all the world to hear

6 month check-up!

Nate and I took Lyla to the doctor yesterday---and she is doing great! Lyla is 17 lb. 13 oz. almost 28 inches long! She's in the 95th percentile for height, and the 85th for weight. I can't believe she's gained 10 pounds since her birth--it's hard to imagine that she was ever 7 pounds. Nonetheless, Nate and I truly enjoy her more everyday, and we can already see that she will be a total character.

On another note, I find it hilarious that Nate and I have started having these late night mini-dates. We stay up late watching t.v. or putting on the stereo in our room, eat snacks (noodle soup) and act like total dorks. I don't think we got to bed until 2 a.m last night. Oh well, it's fun.

Utah Blaze Night!

Last night we went to the opening Utah Blaze game. Because Nate's brother Andy works for the Blaze, we scored some sweet season tickets. I had never seen an arena football game, but it was a total blast! Lyla was surprisingly good, and she loved the fireworks! It seemed like Nate and I hadn't been out to a public event in forever, so it was nice to do something as a family. Ashley, Dallin and Uncle Gregg also came, and I am so excited for the rest of the season!

Why I love my daughter...

I took this picture the other day...apparently she has found her own comfy position for sleeping. And P.S.--she just woke up from a 2 hour and 15 minute nap in her crib, a definite first!
